Wandering Souls: Two musicians who grew up in ruralism, separated by an ocean, and together found a moment of peace in modern urban life. This is ethereal, improvised music that values space, beauty and spontaneity.
Materialized in Brooklyn, it is reminiscent of something conjured in the mountains of Maine, a midwestern prairie, the mist of Sintra or as, per the cover photo, the cliff top views of Seven Sisters.
Recorded on a December afternoon in 2022, each piece is a single take and the album plays out chronologically as it was recorded.
This was our first meeting as a duo, and the first time we set sail without a map. We have known each other for years and played together in other more prescribed musical contexts - here nothing was planned, a natural sense of ambience, pacing, and modal harmony unfolded from the first note.
Something awakened in both of us. We listened deeply and headed to imaginary places where we found lots of space to roam around. Surprised and pleased with the wondrous sounds, at the end there was a feeling of exhaustion, like we had given all our energies. And a gratifying sense of arrival to a new land.
We hope you enjoy our journey.
Sincerely,
André and Jeremy

I normally only listen to electronic music, but after listening to this album months ago I found it kept calling out to me. Now after purchasing it I can see why. I am totally addicted to its beauty and harmony. Thank you so much for the wax version, as it is the only form of music I collect. kaosskid
